Corporate volunteering

Corporate volunteering (employee volunteering) is a company’s ongoing coordinated initiative, when it supports and encourages its employees to voluntarily participate in social initiatives aimed at benefiting local community and tackling local social issues.

The company might allow its employees to use their paid work time for such voluntary activities. It might also assume facilitating and coordinating functions for voluntary activities of its employees.

Pro bono services manifests the social dimension of CSR and is one mode of corporate social investment, when company is investing human resources i.e. time, knowledge and expertise of its employees into the needs of the local сommunities rather than making monetary or in-kind contribution.
