Pro bono consultation in the preparation of a competitive presentation

Problem description: In September-November 2022, members of the Pro Bono Network and partner companies implemented a large-scale pro bono project, which involved helping civil activists prepare presentations on initiatives. Activists had to present their presentations in the competition at the Community Leaders Forum - "Best Community Initiative 2020-2021" 5 business companies, and representatives of 4 pro bono networks were involved in the process: Bank of Georgia, TBC Bank, Credo Bank, Crystal, and pro bono network non-member company "Aldagi".

Briefly about the initiative: Racha is one of the leading regions in Georgia with its small population and a number of socially vulnerable families. On New Year's Day, when gifts are falling in the capital, parents of children living in the mountains do not have the opportunity to buy gifts. That is why Eto Arsanidze, a member of the Racha community organization, launched the "For the Children of the Mountain" campaign. The group succeeded and gained more than 20 supporters in the first year and the same number to collect gifts for children. In the second year, about 60 applicants were found and with their help, 62 children were made happy. The campaign continues this year as well.

Services delivered: The preparatory period of the pro bono project started in October, in which Ketevan Goliashvili was involved from the side of the insurance company Aldagi. As a result of 4 meetings and 4 pro bono hours of joint work, the content was defined, and the statistical data available in the region regarding the number of schools and students clearly showed the seriousness of the issue.

The outcome of pro bono mediation: In the presentation prepared as a result of joint work, with the advice of a pro bono consultant, the contestant included statistical data, showed the schools in Oni and Ambrolauri districts, which are designed for 200 students and the actual number of students ranges from 5-40 students. The existing statistics clearly showed the social and economic situation in the region.

On November 9, at the event held, Eto Arsanidze's initiative became the favorite of the hall and received 500 pounds from the University of Birmingham and a cash prize of 500 GEL established by the company CSRDG. as well as the financial support of Moor Abis. Specially sewn backpacks by the social enterprise "Dedikos", a voucher for the social store "Eski" for New Year's gifts and other symbolic gifts.
