Beneficiaries: Social enterprise "Gumbati"

Social enterprise "Gumbati" is located in the village of Gumbati, Tsalka municipality. The purpose of the enterprise is to support to raise education level among Tsalka residents through formal and non-formal education. The mission of the "Gumbati" is to improve the living standards and peaceful coexistence of the diverse residents of Tsalka municipality.

PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:

As mentioned above, the social enterprise "Gumbati" is located in Tsalka municipality. The enterprise carries out the training process in a building which, although acquired by the founders of the enterprise years ago, is not officially registered in the public registry and is still officially belongs to the original owner of property. The issue with the propoety registration prevents the enterprise from developing and participating in various grant competitions. For this purpose, the enterprise needed the help of a professional lawyer.

SERVICES DELIVERED:

Based on the identified needs, with the support of the Georgian Association of Law Firms (SIFA), a law firm - BGI Legal was involved in a Pro Bono consultation. During the consultation, company representatives held the meeting with a representative of the enterprise and discussed several ways and the available opportunities to solve the problem. The law firm will assist and mentor the enterprise until a final decision is made. The work process involves communicating with the House of Justice and the local municipality (submitting applications and representation). BGI Legal will be representative of the enterprise at all stages and will assist in legal communication with various government agencies.
