Strengthening Human Resources at STEM Space

25.07.2024 - 10.11.2024

Company: Financial Inclusion Organization Crystal
Beneficiaries: Social enterprise Stem Space

About the Organization:
The mission of the social enterprise "Stem Space" is to foster the socio-economic integration and employment of young people both in the short and long term by offering LEGO STEM courses. Through these courses, young people can acquire technical skills in high-demand fields that are critical to both the Georgian and international labor markets.

Description of the Need:
The primary challenge faced by the enterprise is the increasing market demand, which it is unable to meet due to a shortage of human resources. To address this, the enterprise requires consultation in human resources management to assess the scale of its staffing needs, define qualification requirements, and develop a motivational program for employees.

Work Carried Out:
On July 25, 2024, Tamar Lomtadze, an HR Department employee at the financial inclusion organization Crystal, began consulting with Stem Space on human resources management. Initially, the employee needs and areas of activity were evaluated. In the second stage, the skills required from potential candidates were identified. Crystal's collaboration with Stem Space lasted approximately three months, with 12 hours of pro bono support provided by the company.

Result:
As a result of the consultation, a job vacancy description was created, and a list of higher education institutions was compiled. This list will help identify potential candidates based on students' interests and align them with the enterprise's staffing needs.

Mediator: Pro Bono services are mediated by the Center for Strategic Research and Development of Georgia within the frames of the "Georgian Civil Society Sustainability Initiative”. The initiative is funded by the European Union and co-funded by Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS). The project is implemented by Konrad-Adenauer-Stiftung (KAS)
