Pro Bono Provider: Svanidze and Partners

Beneficiaries: Tetritskharo Youth Centre

Tetritskaro Youth Center was established in November 2016 with the efforts of active youth of Tetritskaro. The Center’s goal is to contribute towards empowering Tetritskaro's civil society and strengthening the social-economic landscape of Tetritskaro's municipality population.

PROBLEM DESCRIPTION:

In order to increase its own impact and better support the beneficiaries of the organization, Tetritskaro Youth Center decided to establish a social enterprise. In order to determine the legal status of the enterprise and the related legal risks, the organization needed to consult a qualified lawyer.

SERVICES DELIVERED:

Based on the identified needs, with the support of the Association of Law Firms of Georgia (ALFG), the law firm - "Svanidze & Partners" was involved in a pro bono consultation. Within the framework of the consultation, the founding partner of the company - Gocha Svanidze met with a representative of a civil society organization. The representative received information about possible legal and tax risks related to the establishment of a social enterprise.


RESULT OF PRO BONO MEDIATION:

As a result of the mediation, Gocha Svanidze, the managing partner of "Svanidze and Partners", provided legal advice to the civil society organization on the following issues:

  • Legal status of a social enterprise;
  • Legal and tax risks related to the establishment of a social enterprise
